There are people calling county citizens, and advising that there are active warrants for that person. They are being told that a certain amount of money is needed to keep from being arrested. They will use actual Judges names and actual Sheriff Office employee (both active or former) names to make it seem more legit. They will have the person stay on the phone with them while the person drives to the bank and then to the store to put money on a card of some sort, then they will have the person scratch the numbers off of the back and give them the numbers so they scammer can obtain the money.

Citizens are also receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be a jail employee and requesting money to help someone bond out.

At no time will an employee of the Sheriff's Office or Jail call to obtain money for a warrant or for bond.

This is a scam and the phone call usually comes through with an unavailable phone number
